This year has been a challenging one for all young people in education, particularly for those sitting their GCSEs and A-Levels. We’ve really felt for those who are even more uncertain about their next steps and what the future might hold for them.
That’s why we were thrilled to be approached by ‘Ideas to Action’ to get involved in their 2020 webinar, a platform for young people that empowers them to make informed career choices based on first-hand discussion from industry players.
Lucy, our Head of Analytics & Delivery took the viewers through a journey that shook up stereotypical views of analysts sitting in a corner ‘crunching numbers’ and replaced them with real-life examples of how data can shape strategy and creative thinking. After all, with the world becoming more data driven, it’s less about spreadsheets and more about understanding people and their behaviours!
The Station10 team got right behind the idea and produced a fantastic video that showed first-hand the varying personalities and skills required to have a successful career in analytics.
The Ideas to Action webinar gave us the opportunity to get our story in front of a group of young adults, but it also showed them that they need not limit their career prospects to the standard channels. With the world changing at such a rapid pace, new careers are being created that aren’t often represented at the classic job fairs. These roles will only become more important and we’re so happy to have been given the opportunity to pass this knowledge onto the younger generations.
We commend Ideas to Action for the work they continue to do for young adults at such a pivotal point in their lives, and we wish all the best to everyone currently receiving their results and ready to start their next chapters!
